Ordering your portrait couldn't be more simple. First go to the gallery and decide which medium you would prefer (watercolour or pencil). Then have a look at the price list and decide what size you would like and how you would like your pet depicted (head and shoulders, full body). Also have a think about whether you want a background and if you want more than one animal in the picture. 

Once you have decided, email me with your instructions and I will get back to you within one or two days with a firm quote and an idea of timescale. Occasionally I may need to clarify a few details with you before I can provide a quote. If you do not have email facilities you can write to me at the address below or give me a call on 01408 641204. If you are happy with the quote I will then ask for a 25% deposit (non-refundable) which you can pay securely online with PayPal, using a credit or debit card, or send me a cheque to the address below (cheques should be made payable to Lyn Wells). The deposit will secure your slot in my waiting list and I will then be able to give you a completion date. Please note that timescale for completion can vary. Around Christmas, my waiting list is likely to be longer. Normally I can complete a portrait within two weeks of receiving your photographs. However, I would suggest that you allow 4 to 6 weeks if you have a particular date that you need the portrait for.

horse portrait in pencilThe next part of the process will be to send me your photographs, either as high resolution email attachments (please only send one or two at a time or they may not come through) or on CD by post. If you are sending as attachments, I will acknowledge receipt within two days. If you do not hear from me within this time, please get back in contact in case the attachments have not come through to me properly. I will return CDs on completion. If you do not have digital images, prints can be sent by post; I suggest by Royal Mail Special Delivery if they are irreplaceable. Please don't scan prints as this usually alters the colour and I won't have a true representation of your pet. All prints will be well looked after and returned with your completed portrait.

Once I have your photographs and checked they are suitable, I will do an outline sketch of your portrait and send it to you via email or make it available to view online. If you are happy with it I can then progress with the portrait. Once it is completed I will send you an electronic image to check. If any adjustments are required I will carry these out. Once you are completely happy with your portrait I will ask you to send the balance, either by PayPal or cheque (payable to Lyn Wells). 

On receipt of payment (if you are paying by cheque I will need to wait for the cheque to clear) I will send you your finished artwork.

Please note that copyright of my artwork remains with me. I am happy for you to reproduce your painting or drawing for your own personal use. If you wish to reproduce it for commercial purposes of any kind, my permission will be required.
